Thai Girlfriend Salary

You might ask, "How much should I pay my Thai girlfriend every month?"

The answer is not simple.

I know some falangs who pay their Thai girlfriends 5,000 baht per month. Others who pay 10,000 baht per month and a few who pay a monthly salary of 25,000 baht and up to 30,000 baht.

Realize this, most Thai bar girls who have a low-level of education don't have the skills to manage finances. They are bogged down in the monthly. “I've got 40Gs I'm OK for this month”.

Most do not understand why we foreigners concern ourselves with saving money for the future when we could be dead tomorrow.

To save frustration and pain send honey the money monthly or even fortnightly. Send her enough to cover her living expenses, plus 3,000 Baht / month for her baby if she has one.

A girl living in the province should be able to live comfortably on 7,000 baht per month. Including baby that adds up to 10,000 baht per month.

Depending on circumstances, you might have to consider your Thai girl's mother or father in the equation. If so you might get away with an extra 2,000 baht per month for the parents.

It has been my experience that most parents do have an income. Usually this is from rice harvesting or some other type of farming.

Make it clear to her that the amount you are sending is the maximum you will send so that she has to budget and work out what she is going to do with it. Introduce her to budgeting. Help her to change.

Sit down together and work out her budget. Itemize her outgoing expenses.

Explain why she should never ask you for more money. Tell her that asking for more money will cause stress and problems with your home standard of living.
